John Bell and Catherine Gosney

           

John Bell - Former Music Director Marchwood Prelude Orchestra and Saxophonous
John studied the clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and having taught for most of his professional life, went on to become a teaching fellow at Southampton University. John is also an accomplished drummer and has worked with or alongside many top artists including Kenny Ball, Monty Sunshine, Acker Bilk and the Duke Ellington and the Count Basie Orchestras. His work with disadvantaged people of all ages is widely recognised. John writes and arranges most of the music that Marchwood Prelude play, tailoring it to meet the abilities of the players.

     

Catherine Gosney - Former Music Director Marchwood Sinfonia

Catherine studied music at the University of Southampton and graduated with First Class Honours in 2016. During her time there she founded the University Chamber Opera Society and was the Assistant Conductor of both the University Chamber Choir and the University of Southampton Voices. From 2015 to 2019 Catherine was the Musical Director of Woodside Singers and joined Marchwood Sinfonia as their conductor in 2018.
