Marchwood Music Society (MMS) is the umbrella organisation for several ensembles including: Marchwood Prelude and Saxophonous.

Marchwood Prelude

Marchwood Prelude is a community orchestra that was formed in 2009 and has grown to include more than 30 amateur musicians of all ages.

The motto of Marchwood Prelude is “sharing the joy of music” and judging by the applause and smiles at Prelude concerts, this spirit is being effectively embraced by both audience and musicians!

We cater for a wide range of a musical abilities, and we play a broad range of popular music as well as some classical tunes.

Predule rehearses once a week on a Thursday evening from 7pm until 8.30pm.

Marchwood Prelude is currently seeking new members, find out how you can join us.

Saxophonous

Saxophonous is a group of musicians who enjoy playing saxophone music together and often use their musical talents to raise money for local charities.

Saxophonous hold rehearsals every two weeks.

Marchwood Sinfonia

Marchwood Sinfonia was established in 2017 for intermediate and advanced amateur players in the area to come together to practise and perform clasical music. Our approach for rehearsals and concerts is one of enjoyment and our motto is "we are a friendly chamber orchestra who take our music seriously, but ourselves never!".

Sinfonia is not rehearsing during the Autumn term, however we plan to resume rehearsals in January. If you are interested in joining Sinfonia, please contact us.
